Cicso preparing to launch an Android tablet?

It’s all rumor that this point, but signs point to Cisco building a 7-inch tablet running the Android OS.

According to an article on electronista, based on a recent podcast on CNET, rumors popped up about a 7-inch tablet that Cisco was building.  According to the rumor, it would have a front-facing camera, dual mics, and likely have support for Cisco features such as VPN and WebEx.

While this device may or may not appeal to you, the sheer number of Android-powered tablets coming out later this year is certainly a good thing.  More choices and more competition mean that you’ll be able to find a device with the features you want for a reasonable price.

Cisco has yet to comment on the rumors, which probably point to them being mostly true.
