Android 2.1 update for Droid Eris is “coming soon”

According to Verizon, the long-awaited Android 2.1 update for the Droid Eris is coming soon, though a specific date wasn’t mentioned.

You can read about the upgrade on the Verizon site, and hopefully it’ll be pushed out soon.  As Phandroid points out, the Verizon information never actually says the words “Android 2.1″, which is quite odd.  However, the list of features that they include indicate that it’s certainly 2.1, so that’s a very positive sign.
